Neuroscience
Neuroscience, or neurobiology, is a cross-disciplinary science that studies the biont (or any organic) brain and how it regulates behaviour. It includes the physiology and biochemistry of the nervous system, the functioning of neurons and synapses, at both the microscopic and macroscopic levels. their relation with psychological experience, behaviour, and disorders. Other areas of study include natural and artificial neurobiological systems, neural networks, modelling brain functioning, artificial intelligence and low level ai patterned after the biont model, scanning and measuring neural activity, interaction of the central nervous system with cybernetic implants and augments, uploads, and creating neogenic intelligence.

One who studies and practices psychology, especially for the purpose of aiding other sophont beings. As well as understanding the workings of the mind in general, and assessment of an individual's ability, personality, and expected behavior under specific conditions, psychology is very useful in the treatment of the mentally or emotionally disturbed, in counselling, and in helping to maintain the well-being of a crew on an isolated orbital or deep space ship. Most psychologists tend to be superbright or transapient entities. Many ais show a good aptitude in psychology.
