How Often Do Humans Legitimately Win?

Who here has read Blindsight, by Peter Watts?  Part of the premise is advanced aliens with intelligence but not self-awareness.  They do everything on instinct, apparently.  I haven't read it.  Has anything like the premise been done in OA?
How would they do against various levels of AI?
