Brushbot, Brushvec
Brushvec

A Brushvec resembles an animated brush-broom, but each of its 'twigs' bifurcates down to microscopic level at the end. By rearranging and extending its branches in various ways, the brushvec can walk, manipulate and carry objects, and (on low gravity worlds or in microgravity) 'fly' through the air.

A clade of Bushvec which has a mentality comparable to a nearbaseline human. A typical brushvec has reasonably good memory and can quite easily absorb new information or skillsets, but lacks the processing power to manipulate objects at the sub-micron level.

The body of a brushvec is roughly tetrahedral, but the branching limbs are so flexible that the vec can configure itself into many different forms, including one which resembles a besom broom (pictured). This gives the clade its common and somewhat defamatory name, 'brushbot', or Magician's Apprentice.

Many brushvecs become symaiotic with human partners or other bionts, especially in the Arkab system.
