Hubble's Variable Nebula

Variable Nebula: 2.5 Kly from Sol - site of important Metasoft Second Vec War victory over superior biont forces (in 7009 AT).

The Variable Nebula displays rapidly moving shadows on its length, cast by dense dark clouds orbiting the bright star hidden deep within. These shadows are observed to move much faster than light - one of the few natural superluminal phenomena which can be observed on a regular basis in the Terragen Sphere.

The battle for Hubble's Variable Nebula during the Second Vec War. In the dusty environment of this small nebula the beams used by both sides are dimly visible. A large force of mercenaries and biont fanatics attacked the small Standardist fleet, but were eventually defeated.
