Councils, Galactic
The term "Galactic Councils" refers to a series of organizations that facilitate representation for a diverse array of clades and cultures. The topics discussed can be from local and individual to matters of galactic significance.

These councils serve as platforms for the exchange of ideas, information, and perspectives from across the Terragen Sphere. They try to promote cooperation, diplomacy, and collaboration on topics such as interstellar governance, resource management, inter-species relations, and the resolution of galactic conflicts.

The first Galactic Councils were established during the later Consolidation period, but they started from structures and ideas that can be traced back to the first federation period.

Currently there are several competing councils, in addition to a multitude of minor "official" ones. The ComEmp Council was originally a deal between the empires and some neutral worlds, in addition to being established as an interclade diplomacy council to lessen friction. This was naturally very popular among the xenodiplomats of the Eden Institute. However, there also appeared an independent council sponsored by some other group, and Eden (the system) got a certain amount of weight too. The different councils work differently, have overlapping memberships and often reach different conclusions.
