Are you talking about Impulse Black? If so, I'm afraid you CAN'T do that on your own because there is no theme switching. (I couldn't. Drashner fixed that for me.) You'll have to ask an admin!

What do you mean there's no theme switching lol. It's at the bottom right in the bar that the "Contact Us" "RSS Syndication" etc buttons are at.

This should now be fixed. I've set you to the Andreas 09 theme, which is what I use.

For future reference - for yourself or others - the option to change themes and where the controls for that should be placed are apparently themselves optional elements of a MyBB forum theme. Whoever created Impulse Black apparently either didn't want users to be able to change it or put the controls in some oddball place that we've yet to find. Fortunately, Admins can use their super powers to change a user's profile, including changing their theme.

Impulse Black was a 'dark' theme that I downloaded from MyBB some years ago because there had been inquiries about a dark theme - but then we discovered this nasty bit. I suppose I should figure out how to uninstall it at some point, but so far it hasn't been urgent because almost no one uses is AFAIK.

i can delete the impulse Black theme if y'all want- it's just

admin controls > templates and style > Themes > Options (delete theme.. etc)
but 10 users are currently using it , so maybe not.

is to go to 'User CP' up at the top right (in Impulse Dark) , then "Edit Options (gear icon)" in the far left,  under Your Profile (change avatar, change signature, etc)

then, in Edit options menu, under Other options (bottom right) , there's the option to change the theme back (or keep it).
