Just finished Children of Ruin by Adrian Tchaikovsky. It’s the sequel to Children of Time. Like it’s predecessor it is very good and does a great job writing from a non-human propspective, in this case provolved octopuses.

I am reading this! I am enjoying it a lot. It managed to portray the Nodan "These of We" quite well and make them genuinely creepy. And unique. "We are going on an adventure" is not something that most parasites (although TOW isn't technically a parasite) would say in fiction! And the dialogue of those infected by TOW makes you wonder how much of the original person is still there.
It also does do a good job at writing from a non-human perspective, including Spider Provolves. This has definitely given me a few ideas for my Smart Spiders draft.
Also Disra Senkovi is my favorite character! He's just an octopus geek

Glad you’re liking it. Which do you prefer Children of Ruin or the first book?

I haven't actually read the first book yet in depth yet. For some reason I'm reading this series backwards - I started with Children of Memory, then Children of Ruin, and while reading COR, I just began to read COT. Yeah. It's weird
