The thing is, AI keeps on getting smarter and smarter while human intelligence keeps on staying exactly the same. And the improvements to AI are accelerating year by year. Static versus geometric improvement is a losing game, sooner rather than later. There are already machines that can do medical diagnosis better than human doctors. There are machines coming up to bat that can replace many jobs such as paralegals, editors, radiologists, technical writers, and many kinds of scientists. There are storytelling machines. Machines that perform science experiments. Some can outperform us already, and new iterations will improve on that. They're increasingly able to do tasks that were thought beyond automation. Creativity (albeit not human style), the ultimate human quality: We've passed it on. They have it and they're using it.
Maybe they'll run governments IRL someday. They could hardly do worse than human politicians. "I for one welcome our new robot overlords."
