Just an interesting article about a close encounter humanity had with a star...

Is that binary star system being used (e.g. colonization) in the Y11K OA universe?

No, it has not been used yet. With a proper motion like that, it will move an extra three light years or so over the 10,000 year history of the Terragen Sphere, so it will be around 23ly away by the Current Era.
