I've heard that, too, which is a shame.

It was a fun movie. I'm not going to have time to see it again in theaters, so I'll probably buy a cheap DVD copy. The premise was a bit far-fetched, but no worse than Pacific Rim. The plot and some characters were cliches.

On the other hand, there were moments of genius in the movie. The world building was excellent. Some characters, like the female protagonist, were well developed. It was never boring. It was a gold mine for RPG ideas.
