For those not familiar to Terry Brooks works, the Shannara Chronicles is a fantasy series set thousands of years in the feature, after a nuclear war set humanity back to the dark ages and mutation created additional races: dwarves, gnomes and trolls, with elves as magical beings from another realm.
The book series has now gone Game of Thrones with a new TV show:

I read a number of the Shannara books many many years ago (high school maybe?). I saw the first episode of the SC around Xmas/New Years time frame and found it interesting, but haven't had time/inclination/luck to catch any further episodes since then. I'm sure I'll come across them again, or maybe when they are available on Amazon Prime or Netflix.

I watched the show and overall enjoyed it. A little overacted and the love triangle felt rushed by the set and costume design were excellent. Looking forward to the next series. More experience and budget often make great second series from good firsts.

I started off liking it, but to me it felt like it turned into a teen fiction series with heavy handed relationship plots. I didn't dislike it; I could've kept following it as a time filler but it didn't seem worth it.

There's a new season coming out soon. Looks promising...and hopefully without a stupid love triangle.

I watched the first 3-4 episodes of the season 1 and I bailed. I wanted to like the show so badly but it fell flat for me. I'm thinking of going back to it if the season 2 is better though.

Well, it looks promising enough. And hopefully there won't be a forced love triangle.
