The Crystal trilogy is a science fiction story told from the perspective of Face, one of many artificial intelligences that collectively control a robot named Socrates. Face is a second-generation AI, built by her siblings for the task of understanding and working with humans. Her mental architecture is mostly human; she thinks in a similar way to humans, but her outlook is decidedly alien. As she grows up in the mid 21st century she will encounter humans of all walks of life, meet actual aliens, and grow into something far greater than anyone expected.

I haven't read the Crystal Trilogy yet, but I really enjoyed Epiphany of Gliese 581. Given that Borretti, the author, says the story is heavily inspired in part by Orion's Arm (and I could definitely see the influence), I think we should consider linking to it on our "other space operas and similar projects" page like we did for Lilly Harper's Beacons in the Dark. The story, save for fairly minor details and the lack of wormholes, is very much like something that could have taken place in the OA setting.

I just finished reading this story, it was truly excellent. I enjoyed especially reading the descriptions of cybercosms in metaphor. Additionally the jackal as well as the related entities described were possibly a great description of the aftermath of a Bourgatov Collapse.
