Endless Sky
Another space exploration and trading game similar to Escape Velocity.
Should we call games like this where you trade, explore, and fight pirates "Elite-likes", since they are in a way, like "Elite" (the game)?
There are lots of aliens here. However, unless you have a special technology, you can only access one of them. The Drak have split up the galaxy this way to prevent conflicts.
Anyways, the weirdest thing about this game is that you can build killer fleets that can absolutely smash any government with little effort. At least NAEV makes things harder!

Oh, I've played Endless Sky a fair amount! Yeah, it's a bit interesting how it sort of tries to balance the ship-outfitting and fleet-making sandbox with the actual point being the story... it's got some problems, but it's enjoyable in my opinion.
