Antimatter Brake for interstellar mission (Centauri Dreams) - stevebowers - 03-23-2022 This is an interesting extension to the magbrake concept. Using small amounts of antimatter, a mag-parachute could produce braking thrust, slowing the ship down significantly. https://www.centauri-dreams.org/2022/03/22/antimatter-driven-deceleration-at-proxima-centauri/ If conversion drive / monopole catalysed baryon decay were a thing, this could produce even more thrust, I think. |
