Biobots are coming - a little at a time - terrafamilia - 10-21-2019 Researchers have developed soft robotic devices driven by neuromuscular tissue that triggers when stimulated by light – bringing mechanical engineering one step closer to developing autonomous biobots. https://news.illinois.edu/view/6367/802738 Ciao, Terrafamilia RE: Biobots are coming - a little at a time - Drashner1 - 10-21-2019 Very cool! The bit at the end introduces an aspect of these we haven't really played with at the biobot level (although it has been discussed a little at the synanotech level): That such devices wouldn't be perfectly identical and could have different details or levels of ability. I suppose we could see both gengineering and 'breeding' playing a role in future biobot development depending on how this aspect of things evolves. Todd |
