Based on this wikipedia page, it appears that not only is the answer 'yes' but that this is already going on in nature in a way. I say 'in a way' since the article also includes caveats about consumption of deuterium and temperature. Also, I didn't convert the masses given in the article to see if your suggested mass is in the same range as that mentioned in the wiki article or not.
