Hey first time posting in the forums, but I am downright desperate.
I am a longtime fan of this website, and have been reading articles for a while now. I cannot remember a certain article, and the past hour of searching has been in vain. Can anyone jog my memory?
The article detailed the settlement of a fairly diverse colony (hundreds of different sophonts) in a relatively remote region. Soon, a rogue SI:2 (or thereabouts) AI began to threaten them, and they received word that the AI would soon be at there doorstep.
They sought the aid of a nearby SI:3 (or thereabouts) AI that happened to be on a nearby world. The SI:3 was somewhat introverted and required some convincing but ultimately helped the colony. E introduced several modifications to the people there to better advantage them, and they were able to defend themselves.
I remember the narrative for this one just being fascinating. Can anyone help me out?
