RE: July 2024 Updates - ProxCenBound - 08-09-2024

Thanks.

I'll swap the names of Reshlak and Kamabora! on the garden worlds page so we can say Reshlak is the nearest barocapnic world like we did before.

Yes. I've had trouble with that particular link before.

I still have no clue what the issue even is…like, why is it that Kamabora! cannot be the the name of the planet that hosts the closest complex barocapnic biosphere?

RE: July 2024 Updates - stevebowers - 08-09-2024

I've fixed the other two typos. Echir-{n} really should be spelled Echir-(n) to avoid this problem.

Author preference as author of the Barocapnic Life article I suppose. Reshlak being a CapnoCytherean was the status quo after all. No reason we can't just swap the names to get back to how it was since we lack consensus to have changed it.

Hm, well given that we are moving it inwards, right now it's a lot more similar to Reshlak than Kamabora! anyway. I'll go with that. You should also swap their star names too.

RE: July 2024 Updates - ProxCenBound - 08-09-2024

Done, with star names swapped too (I was doing that anyway). I also fixed the "rather rather" on Caerwactod that was missed.

Contemplative Neverflux by Keith Wigdor and Bing Image Creator - https://www.orionsarm.com/eg-article/47fedc0c5b93d

TBH I think the Contemplative Neverflux one is so abstract and symmetrical it works okay, since we do have other abstract geometric pattern images by humans, so I don't mind if we keep that one. The other two though I don't like. They have the usual problems with generic AI images of being nonsensical. Like, what is even going on with that skull's jaw in the School of Continuous Death?

I think those two pics should be removed and their entries removed from the update page.

Done. Thanks!

To replace the image in the Continuous Death article, I've asked Bing to make this image in the style of Eadweard Muybridge.

This depicts the core message of the article;
Quote:...a biont changes into something different with every atom that enters or leaves eir body, and more importantly, every time eir mind changed states - be it experiencing a new sensation, a new feeling, or even thinking a different thought than one it previously thought. As such, from one moment to the next, a sophont does not remain the same, but is replaced by something similar yet distinct. As such, a sophont never actually survives, but, instead, only lives for a moment before dying and being replaced by a new consciousness with the experiences of the old.
