I just finished the Krill episode. I've seen all of them before that and am enjoying series quite a bit.
I've heard The Orville "Seth MacFarlane's love letter to Star Trek," and I think that's a perfect description.

They're characters so sure- with some adjustment there's almost certainly somewhere where the Orville characters can fit in. You should write a story where you try to make this happen!
