Overview

New Callisto is an
Inner Sphere system notable for the creation of the Taurus Ahuman Civilization Far Observatory (TACFO), for reaching the Taurus Nexus first after the disappearance of the Xi Geminorum AI-1 civilization, and in later centuries for the development of a number of well-regarded erotogen templates. In the Current Era, a Utopia Sphere aligned polity, the Dvis Coltroff Contentment Commission, has nominally incorporated all major celestial bodies in the system. However, the instability of the ruling godling has led to the de facto dissolution of a unified culture into numerous niche subcultures. The Ayysis Range, the second asteroid belt, is home to multiple Neo-Semperist, Exdependent, and Deeper Covenant polities, the largest of these being the Ayysis Confederation.

Galactography

Government and Administration:AI overseer: AllShield, also known as the Collective of Givers and Protector of All, is a relatively non-interventionist S3 tribemind that emerged in 5896. E formed from three beings:

1st Cinta, a Second Singularity mind strongly aligned to the Utopia Sphere, known as the Giver of Happiness and Pleasure.

EG-Golden Energy, a Silicon Generation aligned S2, known as the Giver of Matter and Energy.

Article Of Admin, a supposedly Terragen Federation aligned (eir ethos has shifted over the millenia) S2, known as the Giver of Stability and Safety.

How 'self-contained' AllShield's infrastructure is and the extent of the unity between the three transapients is debated by sophontologists, but the current situation shows the sub-personalities are still autonomous in many aspects, even to the detriment of the S3 entity.

(Pirs Forrda, a S1 subordinate to AllShield, is only concerned with managing the local Argus Network sensor elements).

AI's ethos: The transapients are rarely directly involved in citizens' lives, preferring to maintain the polity's tenets and citizen well-being through more covert methods. However, in recent centuries the Commission's psychoware has received some criticism from other polities who consider it overbearing.

Government: Nominally, the Dvis Coltroff Contentment Commission, Transapientocracy controlled by AllShield.

System Symbols: Dvis Coltroff Commission Flag, Ayysis Confederation Banner, Jadern Semi Autonomous Bi-zone Emblem.

Holidays: Arrival Day, Commission's Commemoration, Cinta Week, Doubleview, and Story Starts Day (Affr-jam completing an orbit) are the most widely observed.

Constitution: Commission Contentment Quota, (heavily altered Beta Arae Protocols).

Legal System: All legal disputes are adjudicated by transapient courts.

Affiliation: Independent Inner Sphere system, with ties to the Utopia Sphere, Silicon Generation, and Terragen Federation. Cyberia, the Hyades Version Tree, Technorapture Hypernation and the Zoefic Biopolity are also represented.
Population and Infrastructure:Population: 396.9 billion - A super-majority are virtual (aioids, uploads, and digis), while the embodied population is much smaller and more difficult to count because of the local culture's transient view of embodiment. Estimates range from 40-90 billion at any given time. A majority of these are temporary bodies for Incarnates. Long term ril-inhabiting subcultures consist mostly of Space-adapted Vecs and Bioborg-tweaks in the Jadern Range, but there are Cryovecs on Ippiter, and minor Splice and Tweak populations throughout the inner system.

Note: Due to the Ayysis Range and Oort Cloud not being officially incorporated into the Commission, their populations are not included. Estimates suggest there are approximately 20-30 billion sophonts living in these areas.

Population centers: Yorrmingandr Ring, Autolandia Orbital Band, Awahsea, Maddai's Rest, Oudvirdell, Oudellan City, Over Ippiter, Sajports, Asgokan, and Ippiter South-Pole.

Angelnetting: Virtually total. System angelnetting is operated by subroutines of AllShield. It connects various technologies to modify almost all embodied sensory experiences, to the point that multiple sophonts in close proximity may experience entirely distinct environments, or the boundary between the virtual and ril is blurred to the point of becoming indistinguishable. The system is sometimes compared to the Zoefic Biopolity's Dreamscapes.
Travel:Major Spaceports: Yorrmingandr Ring, Byury, The Yard, Oudvirdell, Over Ippiter, and Illma Station.

Wormhole Connections: Departing Gift, comm-gauge wormhole (3nm radius) to Paanlaansuu (74 Orionis).

Beamrider Routes: 5 beamlines - Major cyclers to Alzirr and 74 Orionis, 3 other routes available. All are maintained and run by the Ayysis Confederation.

Lightways: 2,013 (links to most stars within 80 light-years).

Interplanetary Travel: Most travel is done virtually, with eidolons, temporary bodies, and engeneration available if embodiment is desired at any given location. For the movement of cargo or persons who want to travel physically, highly efficient interplanetary boostbeams and rotavators are used to reach most locations in the system in a matter of days or weeks.

Freedom of Movement: Close orbits around Tanf-del and Tekk-all are restricted to public transportation only due to the presence of important industrial installations.

Non-beamrider vessels entering the system are required to contact the Ayysis Confederation for permission to pass through the Oort Cloud.

Waste energy limits are also in place around the various Lagrange points and near orbit of Affr-jam due to nearby Argus Network sensor elements.

Visa Restrictions: Visas are seemingly granted at random to those who apply. If selected, the sophont must install Commission provided psychoware for the length of their stay. Failure to comply with this ordinance, among others, can result in the termination of the visa and removal from the system via lightway.
Reached:1770 AT by the Madda'j, a Jovian/First Federation colony ship.

Planetary System

Tanf-del Environs - Diamond Six Collector Collective

Population: 10 billion

Constructed as the need for energy rose with the increasing virtual population, these six diamond-shaped solar collectors - Munpathaka, Surur, Paramanandi, Pinpathaka, Bhouthikava, and Aimtithal, each measuring 50 thousand kilometers wide, and orbiting 15 million kilometers from the photosphere - were finished in 6300 AT. Radbots from
Unon-Duuz that moved into the volume in the 3500s can now be found living in sculpted crevices on the solar side of these orbitals.

1st Cinta's virtual Hedonics and Erotogen Development Centers (H-EDCs) are located in computronium banks within the structures. In the H-EDCs infomorph and vec erotogen templates are designed and mass produced for distribution across much of the Inner Sphere. The abundant energy provided by the collection arrays allows the virchworlds to run at a clock rate many times that of the ril, (the fastest in the system). In recent years, the foundries have slowed production due to what they claim is a lack of truly new ideas- possibly due to the wide gap in subjective time between the centers and most Commission virchworlds, which run slower than the ril. Currently, a TRHN affiliated group has offered to inhabit the Munpathaka structure; negotiations are ongoing.

Located in the shadow of the orbitals are many matter-energy beaming stations, used for efficient ship propulsion and energy distribution.

Tekk-all

New callisto Tekk-all
Image from MiyuwiAuthor

Tekk-all

Population:
- Planetary Surface: 500 thousand
- Tekk-all Environs: 4 billion

Due to its proximity to Tanf-del, Tekk-all was an early center of industrialization for the system. One active Deep Well Industrial Zone, used during construction of the H-EDCs, still orbits the world although at considerably reduced output. Major computronium nodes orbit the planet and are home to a mixed Utopian community of transapients and strictly secretive God Dwellers who are rumored to be in all three states of the Triadic Cycle simultaneously.

Distribution centers, fed from the output of the DWIZ and managed by EG-Golden Energy, transport transmuted elements and transapient technologies to the rest of the system using a network of boostbeams and rotovators.

Ippi-saj

Population:
- Planetary Surface: 5 billion
- Ippi-saj Environs: 14 billion

A diverse aerial biosphere has been seeded in the naturally organic, dull orange atmosphere, with most embodied sophonts living in bubblehabs among clouds of floating cyan and green phytoplankton.

The Ippi-saj bubblehabs have been purposely designed to each specialize in only one part of sustaining a community, such as energy generation, food production, or computronium. This incentivizes the habs to form "archipelagos" to support each other, forming strong communities. Connections are made with multi-use bio-cables that transfer energy, liquids, and sophonts between habs. These archipelagos are a cornerstone of the planet's ecology, as many aerial creatures use the bio-cables as nesting grounds or a place to rest. When two archipelagos come close enough together individual habs can swap with each other if their populations wish to do so.

Sajports, at ~5,000 square kilometers, is the largest archipelago in the system. It travels through the equatorial latitudes of Ippi-saj in search of phytoplankton clouds to sustain its large "ground" based ecology. It is common for entire, smaller, archipelagos to dock with Sajports in large celebrations where gifts and livestock are exchanged and eaten respectively.

This distinct archipelago practice originated on Ippi-saj in the 3500s as a demonstration by Article Of Admin of the importance of community and reliance on others. Since then it has also been adopted by the population of Shhsan-del. In the Current Era, the bubblehab population has declined, with most of the population migrating to space habitats in orbit.

Important Satellites

Population: 30 billion

The 7 minor moons of Ippi-saj have been steadily converted into orbitals and infrastructure over their 88 centuries of habitation.

The majority of the lunar mass (~97%) has been used to create a variety of embodied habitats in Clarke orbit, while the remainder has been converted into computronium for the virtual population. The Autolandia Orbital Band, as it is known, is New Callisto's center of narrative driven virchworld making and fashion.

A current clothing fad here is New35 Neo-Alt Byuryism (from the Byury O'Neill cylinders), which consists of a full body moodomorphic utility fog and an augmented reality layer.

Shhsan-del

Population:
- Planetary Surface: 1 billion
- Shhsan-del Environs: approx. 289.6 billion

Shhsan-del is a tan, temperate neptuneian world orbited by a variety of habitats and moons supporting most of the New Callistan population. It was the second world in the system to be seeded with life, and since then has been developed into a diverse ecology like Ippi-saj. For many centuries, the bubblehab archipelago was also the primary living arrangement for the embodied, but again much like on Ippi-saj, this practice has declined in the last millennium, leading to abandoned archipelagos.

Most of the abandoned structures have been turned into nature preserves frequented by aerial sightseers. Multiple ecosystems now inhabit the world in a collage of life forms: ancient Genetekker biota, the local Renaissance period floral designs, and enumerable biosphere templates ported from the Yorrmingandr Ring's virchworlds to the ril coexist and evolve with each other.

Important Satellites

- Alhalla

Population: 1 million

Alhalla is a tiny, volcanically active world due to its proximity to Shhsan-del. The equator is lit with eruptions of lava, carbon dioxide, and water vapor.

The surface is sparsely populated with only a few nomadic vec communities traveling across the polar regions. The largest of these is the Abihallya Builders, a relatively conservative Silicon Generation group who build mid-tech to lo-tech infrastructure in competitions to see which design will last the longest in the unstable terrain.

- Ahgard

Population: 2 billion

Originally a small mars-like world, Ahgard was terraformed during the late Taurus Nexus period (circa 3100 AT). This gave rise to wide, shallow oceans that covered the equator, large inter-tidal zones, and extremely tall broad-leaf forests on several of the land masses, similar to the east coast of Australia on Old Earth. The largest of these land masses are Ahgonesia and New Io.

1st Cinta, possibly in an effort to display similarity with the stereotypical Utopia Sphere worlds, convinced the population of Ahgard to create grand parks, decorating the landscape with an assortment of flowers, low grasses, and dwarf Akilaspek Trees.

The largest city on Ahgard, Asgokan, (originally Genome), was submerged by the Jaewa Sea during the terraforming, due to its location in a valley that was eventually renamed Asgokan Bay. The original urban domes are now underwater, while the (relatively) newer floating reef city has come to almost fill the entire bay. Recreational locations such as restaurants, museums, and non-subliminal advert art galleries are common.

- Yorrmingandr Ring (Ahgard orbital space)

Population: 250 billion

Originally designed as the Yorrmingandr Arch, the dynamically supported orbital ring was re-engineered to its current form in 5200.

The structure consists of: one orbital ring surrounding Ahgard, which has six ground to orbit towers hanging down from it. A far larger ring, supported by the gravitational effects of the Lagrange points tracing the orbit of Ahgard around Shhsan-del, connects to the Ahgard ring. Contraction points spaced along the ring allow for limited stretching.

The ring supports transportation and environmental infrastructure, including beaming stations, launch loops, mirrors for Ahgard, and computronium banks that run the entire length of the structure. The computronium banks support billions of virtual citizens, digital hedonics centers, virchworlds, and the core processors for 1st Cinta's and Article of Admin's minds. The older arch segment also houses many viewing rooms, hotels, restaurants, and other social spaces. Most areas are heavily angelnetted and run extensive Environmental Optimization Protocols to provide maximum enhancement of experiences, ranging from maximizing the taste of food to creating physically impossible outside views.

- Debbgey

Population: 13 billion

Debbgey is an ecumenopolis and is usually considered the most cosmopolitan moon out of the four. A wide array of clades have intermixed over the millennia to produce an equally wide array of habitats optimized for their preferred environments. Rotacities dot the surface, providing a variety of different centrifugal gravity levels. For those who are comfortable in the natural gravity of Debbgey, large caverns, analogous to Type 1 shellworlds have been excavated and urbanized. These environments are connected by a system of corridors and airwalls, allowing transitions between a diverse set of air mixtures and pressures. Finally, for those who prefer a microgravity lifestyle, the core of the planetoid has been hollowed out and braced with diamondoid supports embedded in the walls. Airwall technology is used to sub-divide the core into dozens of free fall environments and ecosystems arranged in all three dimensions.

Both visitors and locals routinely switch between dozens of different clade bodies to experience the thousands of unique habitats. Alto Stisboi cult styled Death Parlors in the Jiviboutoe Bowl are a popular attraction, while the Binhya Sandiza tradition (cf. System Cultures) attracts citizens who turn themselves into bejeweled works of art.

- Hemmdall

Population: 600 million

The outermost Shhsovian moon is Hemmdall, a large asteroid that was the first world in the system to be colonized by the Madda'j. The ancient city of Maddai's Rest covers most of the surface in a complex of interconnected dimpleworlds. The Madda'j itself is well preserved, after an unexpected Fomalhaut Acquisition Society petition to save the ship from being demolished to make room for a new hedonics dome. The dimpleworld domes house various urban environments and occasional parkland.

The lowest (and most interesting, according to some) levels of Maddai's Rest extend deep into the rock; artificial caverns carved by early mining efforts have been filled with utility liquid that performs a similar function to Laundry gelatin, providing rapid repairs, body disassembly, part exchanges, and engenerator services. Here, disassembly art festivals are held every week during which erotovecs compete by stretching out into long, unwound forms and creating moving pieces of art using their own bodies.

Jadern Range

Population: 17 billion

The Jadern Range is a well developed asteroid belt politically divided by the Jadern Semi Autonomous Bi-zone (JSABz). Zone 1's asteroids have been transformed into thousands of Orwood and Greenbubble forests that extend along the orbit of Allwis and cluster around the Lagrange points. Meanwhile, in Zone 2, the majority of unused asteroids have been shepherded into stable orbits for local disassembly races by Rangers, (a clade of sophont neumanns). Habitation clusters are open to hard vacuum and are usually placed in slightly eccentric orbits to travel the breadth of Zone 2.

- Allwis

Allwis

New Callisto-Allwis-Dianisnytheir
Image from RatCat King
Two individuals of the Dianisnytheir clade, aka Flying Crested Tiger-Monkeys. They are currently healing the orwood with regrowth gel after multiple micrometeoroid impacts.

Population: 306 million

Allwis and its associated habs are part of Zone 1 of the JSABz. The region has Zoefic Biopolity memetics but is influenced by the Terragen Federation. This can be seen in the local population's preference to both forgo automation and create diverse gengineered ecosystems.

Allwis itself is a lazurogened Orwood modeled on Interplanetary Age GeneTekker Dyson Tree designs, including the associated flora and fauna. Unlike the other ecosystems in the Commission, the Allwis biosystem is not designed to automatically provide the many necessities of survival for the inhabitants. Instead, the entire ecosystem must be maintained and cultivated manually to support the population.

Allwis is considered notable in some circles for being the point of origin of the Daianeesintheir clade.

- Nattel

Population: 4 billion

Nattel and its associated habs are part of Zone 2 of the JSABz. Hyades Version Tree and Silicon Generation cultures dominate the region. Disassembly races often end at Nattel. Upon arrival, the collected material is stored for future use in a variety of applications, including spacecraft construction.

In the Current Era, Nattel has expanded significantly in size compared to the original planetoid. The asteroid itself is honeycombed with chambers of various sizes, from tens of meters to tens of kilometers across. Extending beyond the outer surface, a mass-stream supported network of orbital rings and hundreds of connecting towers provides rapid access to any local destination and the wider system transportation grid. EG-Golden Energy maintains much of eir computronium within the structure, which is known by a variety of names, including Jeng-Tat, San Marcoo, or simply, The Yard.

Oudellan

Population:
- Planetary Surface: 6 billion
- Oudellan Environs: 3 billion
- Oudellan Rings: 75 million

Oudellan is an icy terrestrial world with a tenuous atmosphere, but no hydrosphere. The planetary interior is mostly inert, but is still sufficiently active to produce occasional cryo-volcanic eruptions. A sizable ring system is maintained by four minor shepherd moons.

The most populated settlement is Oudvirdell, a space city that extends above the atmosphere and nearly to the inner ring. Most of the population lives at the Apex, a largely transparent, 3 kilometer-wide fourteenth stellation of an icosahedron. Active compression members and a few high-speed elevators support and connect the structure to the municipally separated Oudellan City below.

Oudellan City branches away from the Oudvirdell tower, creating a wide but relatively short base for the structure. In between the urban branches, abandoned strip mines have been roofed over to contain various Titan-like environments with suitable ecosystems. Amusement can be found observing syntech sculptures that shift between emulations of popular Virtual Gardens and AllShield-made Perfect Art designed to instill the maximum amount of euphoria.

Ippiter

Population:
- Planetary Surface: 3 billion
- Ippiter Environs: 1 billion

Many of the domed cities built during the original colonization have been modified in recent centuries to be "open air," often accompanied by replacing many (or even most) of the original structures with a thin layer of highly resilient computronium optimized for low temperature operation. This layer may be seen as extremely minimalist to a casual observer, appearing to be nothing more than a multi-kilometer wide open floor with no apparent walls or infrastructure for the vecs and cryovecs scattered across it (energy and feedstock ports are spaced across the layer at regular intervals, but are hidden until needed). This is because the inhabitants use augmented reality overlays to create unique spaces, removing the need for most architecture. One of these settlements, Ippiter South-Pole, is known for its ice sculptures and augmented reality art.

Important Satellites

- Vallfodir

Population: 2 million

Vallfodir is an icy asteroid that Ippiter captured approximately half a million years ago. In the 4400s the moon's settlements began to refer to themselves as Over Ippiter; a name that has endured to the present day.

Most inhabitants manufacture narcograms specially designed for microgravity environments and infomorphs. The most popular being Hypodef (Lo-De), which greatly diminishes the consumer's spatial awareness and gives a feeling of bliss and freedom from reality. Pourmurmide is also made here, slightly altered from the original Osto drug.

Rilwoods; underwater gridwood structures
Image from Steve Bowers
The Ril-Wood underwater gridwood structures are home to many aquatic clades in Affr-Jam

Affr-jam

Population:
- Planetary Surface: 12 billion
- Affr-jam Environs: 500 thousand

The surface of Affr-jam is sparsely populated, with most of the population living beneath the crust in the subsurface ocean known as Awahsea. Awahsea is home to the Ril-Woods, physically realized versions of the Gridwood virtual environment. First conceptualized by Dergesner Ded, a designer born during the chaotic Age of Crisis, the project was intended to provide a cozy, naturalistic, environment accessible in all three dimensions for the aquatic inhabitants.

To achieve the goal of a physicalized Gridwood in the ril environment of Awahsea, there needed to be some adjustments to the virtual design. The trees were both scaled down and modified to include low density pockets within their trunks to generate buoyancy. Bioluminescent bark provided light in the oceanic darkness, and a unique ecosystem was tailored to support each structure and its inhabitants.

The result was a huge success. The Awahsea Ril-Woods were and continue to be a popular destination, not only for the local population but for visitors from across the Terragen Sphere. In the Current Era, Affr-jam has the highest concentration of non-local sophonts within the New Callisto system, which has had the side effect of making it the main gateway for new ideas and memetics from across the Civilized Galaxy.

Important Satellites

- Illma

Population: 100 million

The entirety of Illma, (supplemented with material from other moons), has been converted into a McKendree cylinder. The interior was designed by Pirs Forrda and many Debbgeyian architects to house hundreds of "natural" planetary environments, many of which are uncommon or fictional. (Pyrothalassic, Chthonian, Chlorogaian, and the ever popular Dionysian being a few examples). This was done for Commission citizens who wish to experience rare environments in the ril.

- Norii and TACFO

Norii and TACFO

New Callisto-Norii_TACFO
Image from Borklord
One of the many updated TACFO sensor elements, 37 AU from the primary at the Tanf-del-Affr-jam L3 point. The image has been brightened due to virtually zero reflected light from the sensor.

Population: 1

After initially being mined for raw material to build the Taurus Ahuman Civilization Far Observatory (TACFO), a number of minor Affian moons remained unchanged for millennia until Pirs Forrda emerged after a group transcension in 5948. E initiated the complete disassembly of the remaining moons to build updated sensor elements, transmitters, and computronium nodes to upgrade the TACFO and integrate it into the network of lesser telescopes augmenting the Argus Array. An exception to this was Norii, which was converted into a small asteroid brain designed for astronomical information storage. The few sophonts that were living on the moons at the time moved primarily to Illma.

Ayysis Range

Population: ~13 billion

The Ayysis Range is equivalent to the Kuiper Belt in Solsys, home to many reclusive polities and habitats, the largest and best known being the Ayysis Confederation. However, due to the prevalence of Exdependent, Neosemperist, and even Authentist cultures, the Confederation is little more than a conflict resolution body. Since many inhabitants of the Range are bionts, hotpoint technology is common among the dispersed settlements.

- Ljam

Ljam

New Callisto-Ljam-Seascraper
Image from RatCat King
Several seascrapers of the Loagei-Polkaan vertical city extend into a darker area of the artificial subglacial seas of Ljam.
Population: 7 billion

Ljam, pronounced Lee-yam, is the largest body in the Ayysis Range, about the size of Pluto in Solsys, and is the foreign trade and affairs headquarters for the Ayysis Confederation. The surface of Ljam is home to a number of arcologies blended into the icy landscape, with those in the mid and lower latitudes illuminated by small artisuns mounted on an orbital ring girdling the equator.

Ljam's formerly frozen interior has been converted into a subsurface ocean occupied by an aquatic ecology inhabited by a diverse mix of tweaks and splices. Thousands of conversion reactors provide light and heat, supplemented by waste energy from local computronium nodes. Inverted arcologies hang down from the icy crust into the subglacial sea, open to the water to allow the aquatic adapted population to easily traverse through them. In addition to the hanging arcologies, multiple vertical cities connect the subsurface ocean to the surface, with a few extending all the way to the orbital ring.

Equatorial towers connect Ljam's surface to the orbital ring. Magnetic launch systems spaced along the length of the structure provide efficient domestic and interplanetary transportation. The ring also hosts low-gravity industry and mattercaches. Ljam has one small moon, Raiyand, which is lightly populated by Doran derived clades.

-Unnar

Population: ~9 billion

Little is known about Unnar since the Ranger Rebellions, due to the Ayysis Confederation's relative isolation. The world has been the official capital of the polity since its inception in 4447, wielding considerable political and cultural clout in the otherwise legislatively loose Confederation. It boasts multiple orbital bands composed of 21 layers of habs and infrastructure giving it something of the appearance of an Oort Cloud in miniature. Unnar itself is lightly populated with most structures concentrated near equatorial Lofstorm Loops.

There is a prevalent rumor that a First Singularity transapient is located on Unnar, possibly as the head of the Confederation. Some go further to say that it is secretly FAS aligned, or that it is a surviving member of the Xi Geminorum AI-1 Civilization, or both. To date however, no concrete evidence has been provided to prove these claims.

- Iyanis

Population: ~500 million

The surface of Iyanis is uniformly white due to a self-renewing methane atmosphere similar to that found on Eris in Pre-Technocalypse Solsys. The Kcol Crater, determined to have formed by an impact in recent geologic history, covers the southern hemisphere.

Less is known about the current population of Iyanis. Most of the sophonts are theorized to live in subsurface habs or caves due to the lack of an orbital band and a suspicious surplus of heat radiating from the surface, though this could be attributed to the impact.

System Cultures

It is unknown whether or not the discontent in the population and stillness of the H-EDCs are intentional on AllShield's part, and what end it might serve. Some argue the unstable godling is no longer fully controlling the system, or that an
archailect may be interfering with New Callisto's society or AllShield emself through EG-Golden Energy. Yet other observers hypothesize some combination of these factors, or that something is occurring that is completely beyond the reasoning of modosophonts.

What is known is that in the seven centuries since the Rifting of AllShield, the system's population has diverged into a number of subcultures, usually confined to their home world or habitat, (a notable exception are the transapient-led factions). Due to large percentages of the population now considering Commission culture to be stale and insincere, a cultural over-correction has occurred, with many groups attempting to be perceived as the most expressive and authentic community. Some representative examples of these divergent cultures are provided below.

Autolandia Fashionista Cliques

Highly active in the Autolandia Orbital Band, the "Fashionistacracy" places fashions, fads, and pleasantries at the forefront of social life. The culture is divided into numerous hierarchical cliques, each with their own motifs and social customs. There is extensive competition between and within each clique with status derived from a designer's prowess and adherence to specific (and changing) social norms.

If a mistake is perceived by higher ranking members of the cliques, social credits will be taken from the offender. These social credits are the most visible marker of status within the community, the higher the social credit score the more limited access products and material templates can be used. Often a group will conspire to tarnish the reputation of a clique's leaders; if successful it usually leads to that clique losing its position on popularity charts and becoming mired in interpersonal conflicts, creating a constant churn of 'The Groups In Vogue'.

Extensive blending of virtuality and the ril (via the angelnet in augmented reality), are a core part of Autolandian fashion and overall lifestyle. Moodomorphic clothing is also very common, with some taking it to the point of utilizing DNI powered, short range telempathy to convey their emotional state or more exotic emotions to reinforce their outfit. Abstract 'Modifiers' can add additional layers of uniqueness to a designer's ensemble; usually affecting the augmented reality displays in unusual ways.

The Triadic Liquids (and a Trillion Rainbows)

The Triadic Liquids is a Commission-affiliated virchworld in the Yorrmingandr Ring dedicated to experiencing the Triadic Cycle nomadically. The environment is located within a pink void filled with millions of slowly falling liquid spheres, each large enough to contain a small population of 20 to 100 sophonts. The spheres originate from a central artisun shining across the entire electromagnetic spectrum and refracting through the spheres of liquid to create a multitude of rainbows (with the help of altered virch logic).

Each liquid is randomly assigned a color, and one of the Triadic Cycle's states to mimic; Ecstasy, Fantasy, or Serenity. There is no way of telling which state the liquid will impart, adding an aspect of unpredictability. Each sphere contains procedurally generated virchologies and small structures designed to enhance its Cycle state while also providing shelter and food to travelers. As the spheres fall they begin to shrink until total evaporation is achieved.

The transient nature of the spheres necessitates a semi-nomadic lifestyle by the population, (provolved and uploaded dolphins, penguins, squid, and some amphibious creatures). Typically, a group will pick a larger sphere to use as a base of operations and go on several expeditions over the course of a week, then travel 'upwards' by jumping to and from bubbles until they decide to settle again.

Anarchist Rheomorphs of Debbgey

One of the most popular and TRHN-inspired cultures, the Anarchist Rheomorphs have embraced their multitude of diverse environments, creating a society of near constant body-change. The body is considered the highest form of personal expression; each shining scale, skin color, eye, and augmentation is individually and uniquely chosen. Sophonts are socially permitted to save templates when switching between environments (e.g. Tohulian Cloudforest to free-fall vacuum), but these templates are expected to change at a yearly rate, at a minimum. Thus, designing a body consumes much of each inhabitant's time, with the rest usually spent at parties where pushing their new bodies to their limits is a common form of entertainment.

An extreme example of the rheomorph lifestyle is the popular tradition "Binhya Sandiza." Participants decorate themselves with naturally occurring gemstones, artefacts, and other accessories, to the extent that their bodies are nearly crushed under the weight, leaving them unable to move. When this occurs the practitioner uploads their consciousness into another body, leaving the ornamented body behind as a testament to their creativity and style.

As exemplified by their views on morphodynamics, Debbgey society is extremely free-flowing, an anarchic ad-hocracy. Most sophonts lack any strong connection to a specific group; interpersonal connections are ever changing and always brief. This is easily possible as the city-moon has many billions of inhabitants, each striving to create their own unique appearance.

Association of Paradisvirchist Spheres

In the processor baseplates of Ippiter's slab cities is one of the most visible examples of the multitude of developing social groups. Thanks to a slow clock rate, some virchworlds are able to connect with a few Cyberia Network communities. People organize into the standard Cyberian social group of 'Spheres,' each with their own social purpose and homevirch.

Paradisvirchism, the official faith of the Association, asserts that unique paradises (virches/expirences) can grant special insights for each individual sophont, and when enough insights are gained 'True Paradise' can be found. Almost all people here are associated with at least ten Spheres dedicated to gaining unique insights for their members; each Sphere caters to a person's unique self, hobbies, and experiences, necessitating membership in many, as perfectly matching everyone's needs in just one would be near impossible.

Occasionally, a Paradisvirchist Sphere will 'focus' and shift their clock rate forwards, far exceeding the average chronorate of both other local virtualities and the ril. Members will spend subjective weeks exploring and creating multitudes of virtual experiences, often pushing the boundaries of local virch design, all in an effort to gain new insights. Once a focus is finished, the group will emerge into the ril and participate in an Illusion Festival, interacting with augmented reality displays to retell their experiences in abstract art for all to see.

Willosophic Idiosyncratic Movement

Hardly an organized group, the Willosophic Idiosyncratic Movement (WIM) is a popular social movement within Affr-jam's Awahsea and its environs. Generally, adherents modify their mind types to make their thought processes highly plastic and changeable. WIMs' worldviews are constantly reinvented with every impactful experience; this leads to a constant churn as WIMs personally pick up and "falsify" (discard) memeticities.

This has the side effect of making Affr-jam the starting point for many new philosophies that are later adopted by the rest of the system's cultures 'downstream'. Most describe the lifestyle as highly whimsical (although some outsiders consider it quixotic that adherents might change their entire moral system in a few days).
