Species of large carnivorous theropod dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous Period on Old Earth, in the region known as North Africa. Subject to at least 37 recorded attempts at lazurogenesis, and at least 14 provolution efforts. Members of sophont clades descended from the latter have frequently reported experiencing some amount of "lazurogen angst" due to discrepancies between their physical forms and the consensus reconstruction in vogue at the time, which shifted many times between c. 50 BT - c. 1350 AT due to new fossil evidence and advances in modeling. Multiple provolve clades have survived into the Modern Era, most notably Clade Koh-Chak-Nar, primarily found in the Archosaurian Empire.
