The oldest continuously functioning government in the Terragen Sphere. Originally called the Martian Union, it was a supranational entity founded in 224 AT fostering economic and political cooperation between the various early colonies on Mars. Over the next few centuries, the Martian Union became increasingly unified and centralized, eventually renaming itself the Republic of Mars prior to the founding of the Federation of Sophonts. In later millennia, however, it gradually granted more autonomy to many regions and arcology-states. The Republic still administers Mars as part of the Solsys Organization.
