Noospheric Theory
The concept that higher toposophic beings from lesser transapients to archailects require lesser minds to create an appropriate noetic or memetic environment, in a manner analogous to the way that a baseline human requires other organic beings for everything from mental stability to digestion of food. Proponents of this idea are fond of pointing out that the cells in a typical biont's body are actually outnumbered by resident symbiotic bacteria and that such organisms represent a significant fraction of a biont's body mass. They assert that something analogous is true to at the mental level. They cite as evidence the relative proportions of modosophonts and lower level transapients to higher level transapients within the Terragen sphere. Sometimes considered a form of Biotic Analogy Theory.
