DD1: Did you hear about the latest ludd culture contacted out in our oort cloud? Here's a snippet of last habweek's report from the survey expedition:
Lazarus Longidae: Tweak clade known to live for thousands of years. Named after a fictional character created by the Information Age novelist Robert A. Heinlein, who told Long's story as a series of memoirs. The clade writes all their long term memories down in very small thin leaved notebooks, uses tiny shorthand ideogrammatic writing, and keeps the notebooks in hundreds of small pockets in their overalls, moving all the notebooks around sequentially each time they fill one and throwing the oldest one away.
DD2: Zar, I heard this same story when I was synthesized in the Inner Sphere 4,100 years ago. They only exist memetically.
DD3: On the third hand, I've heard of way weirder cultures, and if you can imagine it, someone somewhere is probably going to try to create it.
