Terragen non-flowering spore-bearing plant with fronds divided into leaflets in a distinctive and easily recognizable fractal pattern. Having to reproduce by means of spores, ferns prefer moist environments.
Perhaps because of their decorative nature, ferns are a common choice for augmentation and provolution. The best known clades of provolves are placid and reliable workers, with excellent attention to detail; they are in high demand in bureaucratic roles throughout much of the galaxy, and are occasionally employed for espionage purposes as well.
