A weapon developed on Daedelus, and since turning up widely throughout known space; especially in worlds outside the jurisdiction of the higher ais, this is a small pellet, containing explosives, poison or some other payload. When it pierces flesh it extends thin hooks and generally refuses to be removed. If it receives a signal or is tampered with, it detonates.
