Xenologist
One who studies non-terragen life-forms, especially sophont non-terragens. Xenologists are responsible for devising first contact procedures and frequently serve in the role of adviser to an alien emissary or contact intelligence. Xenology is a popular and glamorous profession, but the number of aspirants for professional xenologist outweigh by several orders of magnitude the actual vacancies available.
